Georgian State Radio and Broadcasting Corporation Georgian TV Film Company. Documentary on life and art of Niko Chocheli. First footage was filmed in Tbilisi, Georgia and Doylestown, PA. Film will be a part of series of famous Georgians abroad, which also produced a film on General John Shalikashvili. There are two films in progress: George Balanchine and Niko Chocheli
Saint Vladimir’s Seminary Press, Crestwood, NY – Published book: “Christ in the Old Testament” - illustrations by Niko Chocheli.. La Salle University Art Museum Guide to the Collection by Caroline P. Wistar. Niko Chochelli’s work is listed along with renowned masters such as, Tintoretto, Durer, Rembrandt, Ingres, Picasso, and Delvaux. British Magazine Orthodox Outlook evaluated Chocheli’s art and states that “his books …set a new standard for children’s religious books…” The Handmaiden Magazine evaluates Chocheli’s “Book of Jonah” as “a masterpiece”. Publishers Weekly’s Lavonne Neff highly evaluates Chocheli’s Illustrations for “Christ in the Old Testament” comparing him to the great master El Greco. The play and program, performed at the Cathedral of The Holy Virgin Protection in New York, was based solely on his book illustrations.
