"...Cardinal Rigali, and several others, used the word "beautiful" during the ceremony to describe the new building.
"We gather as a parish family," said the Cardinal. "This is a house of God in a very special way. It's the house of prayer. We gather as a holy family to proclaim God's holy word and to accept God's holy words.
"This beautiful church is only a sign and symbol of something even greater - each one of you has been called by God."
Liz Toole spoke about the church which incorporates ancient 6th century architecture and more recent innovations.
"The church is beautiful," she said. "It's a marriage of contemporary and old world art and decor."
Rev. Msgr. James T. McDonough, vicar for Chester County, was thrilled by the new building.
"The beauty of the church will serve as an inspiration," said the vicar. "I see the beauty of the structure and the beauty of the paintings and the image of God the Creator, and the Theotokus, the Mother of God." Phoenixville News, by Bill Rettew, Jr.
